Summary

The Bronze has been redecorated and for the grand re-opening they've got a live band and people are kicking it up on the dance floor. Buffy is at a table alone when she's joined by Spike. Buffy can't figure out why he's talking to her. Hurt, he walks away and the rest of her group joins her. Willow's still getting headaches from the relocation spell she did on Glory. Buffy spots Ben and walks over to his table and sits down. She thanks him for looking after Dawn at the hospital while Spike watches on. Meanwhile a train arrives in Sunnydale but no one gets off. The security guards goes on board to find everyone dead and in the next instant, he too is killed. Buffy returns home where Giles has been watching over Joyce and Dawn while Buffy was out. Giles thinks that Dawn is dealing remarkably well with the kwnoledge that she is the Key. Spike is in his lair smelling one of Buffy' shirts. To get him in the mood, Harmony dresses up as Buffy and acts like a Slayer while Spike tackles her.

At Sunnydale U the next day, Willow and Tara are discussing a class topic while Buffy grabs a newspaper where the front page informs them that a trainful of people are dead. After school Dawn goes to Spike's crypt, she likes to be around him because he talks to her like she isn't a kid. Buffy returns home to find Joyce worried about Dawn who didn't come home after school. Buffy goes out to find her. Spike is telling Dawn a gruesome story when in walks Buffy, about to ask Spike's help but surprised to find Dawn there. Buffy and Dawn head home and Buffy figures that Dawn has a crush on Spike but Dawn tells her that Spike's in love with Buffy, stunning her. The next day Buffy and Xander go to the train crime scene looking for clues. Buffy tells Xander about Dawn's conclusion involving Spike's love for Buffy and Xander starts laughing insanely. They leave, having not found any clues. Buffy returns home to find Spike, Dawn and Joyce laughing hysterically which disturbs Buffy. Spike then tells Buffy that he's got an idea where a group of vampires are hiding out. They wait in his car until they see the vampire enter their lair. Buffy and Spike confront them but they run off immediately. Buffy says it couldn't have been them who attacked the train because the attack was done by someone who just arrived in town. Buffy then demands to know if Spike thinks this is a date. Finding out that Spike likes her disgusts Buffy beyond belief. She says that he can't know what real feelings are and that he's confused. Spike is about to tell her that he loves her but she stops him and walks out of there telling him there is no "we" in this situation. Left alone, Spike is then surprised by Drusilla who has returned. She wants him to come back with her. She knows about his chip but she convinces him that he's a natural killer and the pain from the chip is all in his head. Suddenly Harmony walks in all insulted to find Drusilla with Spike . Spike tells Harmony that he's moving on.

Later on Buffy tells Willow and Joyce what happened with Spike and they're also weirded out by it. Willow urges Buffy to go back and find Spike to confirm that there's no chance for them at all so that he doesn't have false hopes. Meanwhile Spike and Drusilla got to the Bronze. While they dance they spot a couple making out. They go over and snap their necks and Spike, overcoming his chip, drinks from the girl's neck. Buffy goes to Spike's crypt and snoops arond while he's not there. She finds a small shrine devoted to her with her pictures, her clothes and drawings of her everywhere. Spike returns with Drusilla who attacks Buffy with a shock rod which knocks her out. Seeing the pain done to Buffy, Spike does the same to Drusilla. The two girls wake up to find themselves chained to the ceiling. Spike tells Buffy he loves her and to prove his point he'll stake Drusilla but Buffy doesn't care. Spike says that if Buffy doesn't admit there's at least something between them then he'll let Drusilla loose to kill her. Buffy tells him there never was a chance and he becomes infuriated, screaming that these two women have ruined his life. Harmony then appears and shoots him with a crossbow. She's angry that he's always forgetting about her. Spike and Harmony start fighting while Drusilla breaks free and attacks Buffy who's still chained up. Spike lunges at Drusilla to stop her from hurting Buffy and then releases Buffy from her chains. Drusilla is shocked by Spike's actions and figures that there is no saving him now. Angered, Buffy knocks Spike out but he chases her home. She tells him she wants him to leave town and to leave her and her friends alone. They reach her house and Spike is surprised to find that he can't walk in because Willow has revoked his invitation.

Nika's Review

Way too blah of an episode for me. I don't like the road that Spike's character is taking and he looks like a big ole pansy to me. And then to have Drusilla return and have Spike all mopey was just too weird. They didn't seem like they meshed anymore. So what happened at the Bronze anyway? Did Spike actually bite that girl or was he faking it? And if he wasn't faking it then how come the little chip in his head didn't do anything? I don't think the chip is actually psychologically effective or he would have noticed it before now. And speaking of the Bronze (how's that for transition Jody?) what the hell did they do it? I miss the old Bronze! This place looked so bloody weird! And sure, now we've got more live music but the whole place just looked totally out of place. A thought: How did Ben disappear last time? Are Glory and Ben one and the same person? Split personality god? Anyway, let's hop next week is better.
